The Week In Math 15th-22nd August 2016

Israeli electronic/psych/post-rock band Tiny Fingers have released a brand new track especially for ArcTanGent Festival which you can check out here.

The mighty Quadrilles are back in the studio recording the follow-up to 2015’s Isotopes. Check out their updates on Producer Thomas Le Beau Morley's page.

Something for a great cause: Get a load of this superb complication from Wrongpop, all in the name of Checkemlads, a charity to raise awareness for prostate cancer. It features tracks from Mogwai, Future of the Left, Cleft and a brand new tune from In Violet.

Adam Betts, most famously known for his powerhouse drumming with Three Trapped Tigers, has announced a solo album entitled Colossal Squid which will be released on the 25th November via Blood & Biscuits. You can pre-order it here. Expect electronics, beats and ferocity.

Alright the Captain are sadly going on an indefinite hiatus. They have a couple of shows left before they hang up their picks and sticks:

24th August - The Bodega, Nottingham with Vasudeva & Totorro.

25th August - Firefly Worcester with Chiyoda Ku and The Broken Oak Duet

It’s almost time to make the annual Fernhill Farm pilgrimage…ArcTanGent Festival is just days away. Unfortunately, Tangled Hair have had to pull out but they’ve been speedily replaced by the superb Memory of Elephants.

Upcoming Gigs

Wednesday the 17th at the Hope & Ruin, Brighton: Bearded Youth Quest, And So It Goes & Exploder Than You.

Also on Wednesday, at Anvil Bar Bournemouth, Lifeblood present Space Blood, Chiyoda Ku, The Decoy & Ko_Plune.

And if you can't make ArcTanGent but need your fix of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, get down the the Coronet Theatre in Elephant & Castle on Thursday.

...and here is something totally unrelated...

...A video of a squirrel nabbing a GoPro and going on a tree-climbing adventure. It's lovely. On a side note, this actually pairs really nicely with the Tiny Fingers track I mentioned earlier. Try it.
